Serving the communities of Thurso in Caithness, north Sutherland and southern Orkney.

Caithness FM is Britainís most northerly mainland radio station broadcasting to Caithness, north Sutherland and southern Orkney using a Moray Firth Radio (MFR) relay transmitter on 102.5 FM. The service has been provided for the last 10 years.

Caithness FM reflects some of the diversity and character of this area.

Caithness FM strives to provide a service to the community which includes advertising employment vacancies and providing a forum for local news, whatís on in the county as well as allowing other local groups or charities the opportunity to promote themselves or their events, all totally free of charge.

Caithness FM broadcasts from 7.00pm to 12 midnight Sunday to Friday and from 2.00pm to 4.00pm then 8.00pm to midnight on a Sunday.

The programme schedule includes all kinds of music from pop to classical, with country, Scottish, jazz and blues to name a few. All presenters are volunteers who give up their time and in many cases provide all their own music 52 weeks a year.

Caithness FM is totally funded through the serviceís own fundraising efforts and the generosity of local companies who sponsor programmes.
